A graduate of the Rennes School of Fine Arts in 2004, Antoinette Parrau began by designing luminous objects that she presented at design fairs such as the Saint-Étienne International Design Biennal in 2006, the Maison & Objet Fair, which invited her to the Talents à la carte section in 2007, the Satellite Fair in Milan, or the Scènes d’intérieurs space.

Following this design work, Antoinette Parrau develops a research on the manipulation of light for which the Centre national des arts plastiques grants her a residence and research allowance in 2009. She works on colored light in urban space with the luminous benches proposed for Nuit Blanche in Mayenne and then exhibited in the courtyard of the centre for contemporary art 40mcube Rennes in 2011.

In 2012, Antoinette Parrau created the label PARISRENNES with which she creates hand-scale objects. It is with this label that she realizes various objects and jewels in collaboration with plastic artists: Christelle Familiari, Angélique Lecaille, Julie Christine Fortier.

During her residency at the Eugène Marquis Regional Cancer Reference Center, Antoinette Parrau wishes to contribute to the well-being of patients undergoing curitherapy, based on her experience and her specific skills as a designer. What actions can enable patients to support their moments of suffering? How to propose a variety of activities that would allow the patient to recreate, to relax and especially to better tolerate this invasive and sometimes painful treatment?

Antoinette Parrau created a toolbox containing different objects and made it available to patients during their stay in order to make their daily life lighter. This toolbox proposes, according to the time of day, to carry out a micro-action, a gesture, to formulate a thought, to create a form, a text, a color… It thus stimulates simply and in a positive way the spirit.
